Inspections for British schools overseas follow the framework and guidance for independent school inspection in England. ISI has extensive experience inspecting and supporting British curriculum schools in over 50 countries around the world and is approved by the UK Department for Education to inspect British international schools.

Judgements are made against a range of standards, which include the quality of education provided, the pupils’ academic and wider achievements, their attitudes to learning, the quality of the pupils’ personal development, and the effectiveness of governance, leadership and management.

Geneva English School is the only school in Switzerland that undergoes the rigorous inspection regime of the ISI.

Headmaster's comment on the March 2017 ISI report:

“We are delighted with the report, which speaks of a school in which children are happy and well cared for, where they enjoy their learning, and where they acquire values, attributes and skills that will serve them well in their future lives”, commented the Headmaster.

“The inspectors found something very special here, namely a ‘learning’ school in which there is an open dialogue about educational philosophy, modern teaching methods and the development of skills and competencies for life in a rapidly changing world. This is a place where members of staff talk to each other, share ideas and are keen to try out new initiatives.”

ProCert (Quality School Certificate)

The annual ProCert (QSC) inspection looks at all aspects of the School, including the quality of leadership, management, teaching and learning.

Our last ProCert inspection was in May 2020. Their report can be read (in French) here.
