Work with us
Geneva English School offers a warm, lively and collaborative community in which to work, close to the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Geneva.
Geneva English School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (including those in the EYFS) and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and/or local Swiss and French checks.
Working in Geneva
Geneva is a culturally well-served, safe and clean city, notable for its small size but global importance, due to the number of inter-governmental, non-governmental and international companies that are based here.
The quality of life is high and for those who enjoy culture, mountains and lakes, cheese, chocolate, and an interesting, multicultural, francophone environment, there can be no better place to live.
Between the school and Geneva is the airport, a major European hub for Easyjet, BA and Swiss, which makes travel to the UK and elsewhere in Europe remarkably quick and affordable.
About half of the staff live in France, which is just a short drive away (as little as 15 minutes); the remainder live in Switzerland. It is a question of cultural and social nuance and a trade-off between the cost of housing and the levels of tax; each person has their own preferences.
We look for creative, engaging teachers who delight in enthusing children and young people, who are committed to self-improvement, and who enjoy sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues.
We offer very competitive salaries and, for eligible staff, reduced school fees. You will be teaching polite, well-motivated pupils who genuinely enjoy their learning.
